Together for 3 years now, Tanya & Milan were great to work with and it was evident that photography was very important to them which humbled me slightly as they told me of their exhuastive search to find the right wedding photographer, I was truly honoured to have be chosen especially since we had not even met at that point.

Breaking the park into three sections I wanted 3 styles that I felt accurately portrayed the couple, fun, colourful and finally some really intimate shots of the couple captured in my un-obtrusive style.

May wedding’s previously have been one of my favorite times of year to shoot so everyone (especially Tanya) is hoping for a nice sunny day, during our pre wedding shoot we had just enough time to shoot what was needed before the rain began to make shooting in the open impossible, we found a safe haven under a large dining canopy which actually worked perfectly as our final backdrop.

So here’s to Tanya & Milan, and their May (sunny) wedding, lots of exciting idea’s in store for this one, and I hear the bridemaids and wedding party will be up for the challenge too.

With the date confirmed for a July 2012 wedding, Sam & James, I found, were very keen to get their wedding planning well under way, with an incredible venue already secured, they wanted to book their photographer next. Samantha found me on facebook a long time ago, regularly liking and commenting on my work so I was honored when they enquired about my photography services.

We chose to meet up on the 13th March but instead of simply discussing their wedding and having a Q&A session we also arranged a super early pre wedding shoot so I could show the couple how I work and allow them to make an informed decision afterwards.

Now I love it when I work with couples that are so well suited that capturing that chemistry is made all the easier, Sam & James, are clearly the young, fun and happy kind of couple I enjoy working with, very co-operative and taking my direction (although minimal) very well.

With pre wedding shoots, I really like to photograph couples as they would normally be with each other, so my style is un-obtrusive with a few pointers here and there to help get the shot I want, and I’ll often throw in a few wildcards aswell to make things interesting.

With the shoot complete, I was happy to show a few shots as a taster of the final product and was also a little overwhemed when Sam & James decided to book me right there and then, what a great end to the weekend.

Is it because…

• I get to be amongst people looking and feeling their best
• Working 14 hour days still leaves me with so much energy I cant sleep
• I see a must have shot everywhere I look
• The colour around me
• The emotion and energy everywhere
• the spontaneous reality of a day day planned to perfection but with moments you could never prepare for
• Seeing the look on a Brides face when you ask her for an adventurous pose with her partner, then seeing her face when she loves it.
• Watching guests generously enjoy the bar.
• Looking back on the previous day in the editing room
• Retelling the story digitally which images that will last a lifetime
• Meeting the couple to deliver their photo’s and seeing the reactions first hand
• The speeches, the comedy, the entertainment
• The opportunity to let my creativity explode and be booked for it
• I cant imagine doing anything else
• or is it all of this and more…?

This is me, this is why I do what I do, when you say I do.

To the couples I have worked with, and the couples I will be working with soon I am honored to have been chosen as your photographer.

After a quick run down of the day and a few planned locations for later we got cracking, Helen took charge of photographywith  Nicola while I worked with Chad to grab a few informal prep shots…

Chad & Nicola were great to work with, a very willing and co-operative couple, totally in love and seemly very comfortable in front of the camera.

The Day Flowed effortlessly, no delays and the skies even cleared for some group shots, We packed in a few shots with the happy couple and their chosen bridesmaids, bestman and ushers, then popped back inside to warm up and prepare for the speeches.

Speeches were funny, heartfelt and timed well, Helen and I then had a chance to review the days images so far, and plan the next half of the day.

With sometime to spare before the dancing and evening entertainment kicked off, I stole the couple away once more to help me grab these sunset shots.

Before long it time for the cutting of the cake and first dance, and having enjoyed the day so much Helen and I stayed on for a bit longer capturing a few extra shots before ending the day with more than images to work on and thanking the couple for their efforts throughout the day and wishing them a happy honeymoon.

Looking to move forward and offer more services and create an even bigger impact on the wedding world I’m going to start introducing engagement photo shoots, lots of reasons behind this decision, most importantly though is the choice and added value to the couple a chance to really get to know me and my style before the wedding and get some stunning images without their wedding attire, the grounds to my new home at Nettlestead Place will be perfect for this kind of shoot and really is an exciting opportunity for all involved.

I Posted a smaller blog a while ago on blogger, but that was before this site was created. As mentioned previously Helen and I have spoken and bounced ideas around for some time now, while Helen has been incredibly helpful with the business side of things I would hope I have returned the favour with technical knowledge and so it seems we both have merits that can assist each other…

…The next inevitable step was to work together, two similar minds with two different styles of photography and one wedding I can already imagine the stunning work that will be created on this special day.

February 26th is the day for this collaboration, full day coverage is taking place which will compliment my journalistic style where I can capture the days events unfold. Shortly after the wedding the results will of course be posted online so check back soon to see them.
